Spring/Summer 2008

Sorry it has been so long since the last post but things have been so busy and without high speed internet it is definitely hard to keep up. Since I will be starting school on Monday the blog will be kept more up to date. Here is what we have done this spring and summer. Are you ready for it?

May 2008
On Mother's Day we walked in the Race for the Cure, a family tradition, then had lunch at the Bloom's house.
Mother's Day with Reed is always a great day. Reed is one of the greatest things in my life and I am so happy I can share him with all of you.

Reed helping Grandpa John make ice cream to go along with Grandpa's 60th birthday cake.

June 2008

Reed swinging.
Reed loves to play at the park. He seems to like running away from Mommy and Daddy and giggles the whole time. Of course I am a nervous wreck hoping he doesn't fall and get hurt.
Bicycle day at daycare. Reed was happy to wear is helmet. He will sometimes put the helmet on and wear it around the house. Silly kids!!

Reed blowing bubbles in the front yard.
Playing cars with Great-Grandma Lois.
Reed spending Father's day with Daddy. Doing what they do best, eat.
Reed throwing rocks into Pelican Lake at Grandma Lu and Papa Charlie's cabin.
Reed's first ride in the boat. Jason said he cried all the way from the boat launch. Reed said the ride was scary and loud.

July 2008 4th of July week up at the cabin. Reed spent some time with his cousins Cooper and Bella. Here they are sporting their 4th of July look with the Old Navy t-shirts that Grandma Lu got them.
Reed wearing Papa Charlie's hat. Nice!

Dru in her baptismal gown. She looked so cute.

Dru's baptism. Jason and I were honored to be Dru's godparents. The colorful cloth over her dress was made by their sister congregation in Guatemala. It was extra special for us, and Dru too.
Dru is almost as tall and weighs almost the same amount as Reed does and they are 2 years apart. Mariah was reading them a book Dru received as a gift.

Reed is afraid of the doctor's office so I bought him a doctor kit and he loves to pretend he is taking care of people. He does need to work on his bed side manner though. Hitting people with the medical instruments doesn't make people feel better.

Reed helping Daddy blow out his birthday candles.

Reed outside in our backyard on the swing set.

Reed talking with Auntie Julie. He has a lot to say these days. He gets started and sometimes keeps going. I am just amazed at how much he is able to communicate with us.

Reed and Dru "swimming" in the backyard. Neither one would get in the water.

Reed loves to pick up sticks and wood in Grandpa and Grandma's backyard. This was Reed after collecting the boards and laying them all in a row. It was all his doing, Mommy had nothing to do with the spacing and placing. Wierd huh.

August 2008Reed , Daddy and I went to see the Wiggles live on August 7th. He wasn't sure at the beginning but by the end of the show he didn't want it to end. The Wiggle's find their way into our house each morning. He is starting to sing along with them.

Reed's other favorite thing to do outside is swing. I think it comes after throwing rocks in the water. Here he is swinging on our trip up north to Bluefin Bay with my family. My parents hit a milestone this year and going on a trip up north was how they both wanted to celebrate. I think fun was had by all.

Reed and his cousin Dru. He definitely likes her. He has been known to give her numerous hugs and kisses completely at random.
Beautiful sunset over Lake Superior.

Daddy, Reed, Grandma Sue and Dru getting ready to make s'mores on the beach at Bluefin Bay.
Canal Park in Duluth, MN
Reed loved seeing the boats. Even though he won't ride in them he still loves to say the word and watch them from afar.

Reed was in heaven because he was able to throw rocks in the water. One of his favorite past times while at the cabin too.

We had french toast for dinner one night and Reed was an absolute sticky mess. He started holding his fork up with the palm of his hand. I laughed so hard. Then he tried sticking it to his face. He had a hard time pulling his fingers apart after a while.

Reed is talking, singing, dancing, and running all the time and it is so much fun. I always heard about the terrible twos but I am not convinced yet. (OK so he was sleeping when I typed this entry) Hope you enjoyed catching up with Reed and our family. I know it was a lot but I wanted to get in all in one.
